Step Into the Light

Step Into the Light

Do you want to know the heart of God?

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him. If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth.” 1 John 1:5

There will be so many things that compete for our attention. Things that sometimes seem ok can present themselves good until we recognize that they can drag us down. No one ever says, “Come let's do things that will separate us from all God wants for us.” It presents itself more like the thought I am going to be ok with just a little dabble of this here. Even as I know that what I am choosing will lead me away from the path God wants me to go. At the root of all of it is that the more I experience the goodness of God living in the Light the more my heart will gravitate towards living in that obedience of Living for something that will produce an understanding of God.

God is Light. Christ is Light. There is no darkness in Christ at all.

I can’t have it both ways. I can’t experience the blessing of living for my Father and have one foot in the world. I tried this. It can look like allowing that sin to cloud my thinking. That partial obedience won’t allow me to have that sweet fellowship with God. The one that knows I am walking in the Light of Christ and that is the One who will continue to expose those areas that he can shed light on to help me understand His heart.

Satan is a liar. God gives us Truth. The enemy of our minds will always be the battleground. Every single day it is my choice to step into the Light. Asking God to reveal where I am not allowing the Light to illuminate in my heart and mind what needs to be removed. Knowing that surrender is where I can move forward because the price of it has already been paid for my sin in full.

Tell Him. “God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Sit with Him and allow Him to bring it into the light. Say it out loud. Ask for His forgiveness and move forward knowing He will restore you. “Father your word tells me that when I confess my sins, you are faithful and just to forgive them and cleanse from all that is not right with you.” When we acknowledge it and agree with God and He can bring it into the light.
