Kingdom Heart

Kingdom Heart

“Listen closely, my God and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations and city that bear your name. For we are not presenting our petitions before you based on our righteous acts but based on your abundant compassion.” Daniel 9:18

God is all knowing.

In a time where kings were ruling and evil was rampant God was making a way. Those that were captured and taken to the foreign land of Babylon were looked at as the ones that God was punishing when really, they were being spared. They were being brought there so God could restore them. They had grown so far from what He had taught them that regrowth had to happen.

“I will give them a new heart to know me that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God because they will return to me with all their heart.” Jeremiah 24:7

Has God ever moved you to a place that was foreign? Has He ever placed you somewhere when you wanted to just stay?

Leading worship with my husband was a passion I had for close to 17 years. I can remember the days of doing duets with him and practicing in the kitchen together. The girls were little back then and sometimes they would sing along. It seems like yesterday even though it was many years ago. We discovered something that we could do together alongside one another that carried us through difficult times, diagnosis, and raising girls. But at some point, I knew the Lord was asking me to lay that down. “Step down off that stage.” That was what I felt one Sunday, and I knew it would be the last. I never thought that Eric would continue on until it happened. And it was such an uneasy and uncomfortable feeling and all I knew but also knew it was something the Lord was making clear. People prayed for me. Things began to shift. As I prayed where the next place to serve was, I stepped into another leadership position that has become my ministry. I get to sit in the congregation and lead worship. And I get to lead worship with middle schoolers and writing and sharing my life.  A foreign land has become a peaceful place I have come to know. And the bonus is a blessing of still getting to sing with Eric in choir. Because God always does beyond our comprehension what He is able to do when we surrender and trust.

So why do I forget? Because here I am in that same place of where He is doing something new once again.

Lord, help me to remember it is all for you.

Father,

Give us Kingdom hearts. When you are moving us to places that we want to be restless about remind us that you are about whole hearted devotion. Things do change when we surrender and don’t hold onto those things. Help us get to the point of asking you to count us in on what you are doing. Our Kingdom hearts are so that others can know you Jesus. When you are shifting us and moving us that is the reminder to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. Thank you that you care to use each one of us for your Kingdom glory Jesus. Heaven on earth.
