More Than Conquers

“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

Someone asked me the other day how I got to a point of being transparent. I know God has always given me a gift of encouragement, but something happened when I began to realize the power of His Word and how it transforms our minds and hearts. Maybe that is the love to write. Seeing His written word and the powerful truths behind it and how He backs it all up is something is something I can’t escape. Everywhere I look and spend time in His word is the reminder of His great love for us. How we continue to dismiss it and choose to listen to the voice of the enemy instead of the voice of the Lord is seen all throughout the Bible and my life. Jesus led a transparent life. He always pointed them back to the Father. And regardless of how he was treated He chose to live his life sinless and blameless.  The plan God chose for all mankind was for Jesus to show us how to live.

Yahweh’s instructions were embedded in a loving relationship. It was always about the relationship. Jesus taught his disciples how to live by living a life that was authentic, but he did it without sinning. My life is lived in a transparent authentic way because of that example of a love that I will never fully understand.

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” Matthew 4:1

Jesus was led. The devil didn’t lead him, God led him. Nothing the enemy does is done without the permission of God. Nothing. God always goes before us and is with us in EVERY single battle we face. Day in and day out.

“You have one life, live it.” Brian Tome

This was at the end of a longer quote but it went down in my notebook. As I was getting ready to leave to go be with some middle schoolers I left with a reminder of what this is all about. Nothing that I do and everything that the Lord does within me. Putting on the FULL armor so that when the enemy comes, I am ready. Remembering because of Christ I am fully equipped with the Living Spirit to empower me. A reminder that I called to live in One Spirit with Christ.

Father,

You will take us through places that are hard. We don’t have a spirit of fear, we have a spirit that produces joy, and peace even in those places we want to run and escape from. Your word encourages our hearts and minds to keep believing and praying because we have received Sonship and we are more than conquers because of Christ. Thank you, Jesus, for the cross. The cross is what paid our freedom to lives our lives as One with you Jesus. We are more than because of your Spirit Jesus that lives in us. In what is your life and death that we can continue to live together knowing our purpose is to glorify you in everything we do and speak. Thank you, Jesus.
