The God Who Sees

   The God Who Sees

God looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.” Psalm 53:2-3

Seeking God is a continual process. We are bent towards seeking ourselves and our desires. Jesus made it possible so we could know the heart of God.

God is a relational God. His one desire is that I would know Him and trust Him with all my heart and mind and soul. He knows my sinful nature and expects that it will always be an ongoing seeking and asking relationship that I have with Him. It will be a daily prayer to ask Him to search me and my heart  because He knows already when my thoughts are far from Him. The enemy will work overtime telling me to turn away and turn towards myself and God reminds me He desires to know me so that I know who to turn to. A yielded heart isn’t easy but it will cause me to remember daily I am not in charge.

Our church gathers monthly for prayer and worship. This is always an opportunity to sit with God and spend time just worshiping Him and praying. Along with corporate prayer there is always an opportunity to receive prayer from a prayer warrior.  Last night I went and decided I would receive prayer. A quick fill in with the prayer warrior God had assigned to me gave him the run down of my current circumstances. All the areas I am completely aware of but God revealed one I wasn’t really listening to. Well I kind of was because I could feel those little reminders but was brushing it off as I am so accustomed to doing these days. He said, “Angela, God doesn’t expect perfection.” and then the words, “You are too hard on yourself.” Man those words stung but they rang true. It rings true for all of us. In this particular area I will continue to question and I do expect perfection and as God reminded me through this prayer warrior I am much further than I think. Because that is another area the enemy will work overtime telling us that we haven’t grown. A yielded heart is allowing God to move into those places of imperfection because the price was already paid on the cross. Reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

We can have the belief that God doesn’t see those things we need to acknowledge that or we could allow Him to take all of it. Recognizing where we are falling short is exactly the heart posture God wants so that He can do the work within us. Realizing we were never meant for perfection and only for a God who meets us in all those imperfections.

Ask Him. Father search me and know my heart. Reveal areas where I am concerned and not putting you first. Lead me and guide me in your everlasting ways.

Father,

You SEE us. When we turn away. When we run. When we think you aren’t there. Seeing us is knowing you are watching over us. We turn from our ways to yours. You bring Peace. You bring Restoration. That is your heart for us Jesus. Show us and expose those areas where you desire to work. Thank you that you are the God who sees..

Amen
